Managing Director and Founding Partner

Drew J. Guff is a Managing Director and founding partner of Siguler Guff & Company. He is responsible for Siguler Guff's direct investment and merchant banking activities and sits on the firm's investment committee. Prior to founding Siguler Guff, he was with PaineWebber for eleven years in a range of both principal and advisory capacities.
In 1994, Mr. Guff was instrumental in the formation of Russia Partners, L.P., the first major private equity fund to invest in Russia. Before establishing Russia Partners, L.P. he was a principal within PaineWebber's Merchant Banking Group, where he was engaged in structuring and managing investments using the firm's capital. PaineWebber's Merchant Banking Group owned controlling stakes in businesses across a broad range of manufacturing and service industries, including broadcasting, retail, media, industrial services and consumer goods. He also served for four years as Assistant to the president of PaineWebber. In 1989 Mr. Guff founded Pacific Media K.K, which today is Japan's largest outdoor media concern.
Mr. Guff sits on the board of directors of a number of Russia Partners' portfolio companies. He is a director of Eurasia Foundation and the U.S.-Russia Business Council. He is also a trustee of the Phillips Academy Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University.
